Songs of Praise  THIS Tuesday, November 27th Once a month usually the last Tuesday of the month, we gather at 7pm in the church to sing our hearts out in songs of praise.  We go through many of the hymns that will be upcoming in the month ahead.  This is not a choir rehearsal but just a good hymn sing.  Sometimes we learn a bit about where a hymn may have come from or something about the composer.  It is a lot of fun and we usually finish by 8:15.  Do come along no matter what you might think of your voice and join our happy chorus

Clothing/Textile Drive Sunday, November 8th! Please rummage through all your closets and basement. We all have old clothes, suitcase, purses (come on ladies be honest!) and shoes that we will never use or wear again so let’s put it all to good use & bring it down here by Sunday, Nov. 8th. This is an excellent fundraiser with minimum effort. The key is asking your friends, family & neighbours to do the same.

International Pot Luck Supper – Saturday, November 21st  We are a wonderful multicultural faith community and each year we celebrate the anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone for St. Helen’s on the Reign of Christ Sunday.  This year we will have a potluck on the Saturday evening.  It’s a great time of fellowship and fun.  A splendid time to invite your friends and parishioners we haven’t seen for a while.  Do think up your most revered dish to bring along and share with us all.  Would you like to help with some entertainment?  If so, please speak with our rector, Steve.

Thank You to Everyone who gave toward the Dorcas Shower.  It was a great event and half of what was collected went to Bales for the North and half to Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Tri-Parish Quiet Day – Saturday, Nov 21st Just in time to prepare for Advent the parishes of St. Helen’s, St. Michael’s and Church of the Epiphany are offering a quiet day.  The reflections and meditations will be led by our own priest, Steve Laskey.  The gathering is from 9:30am with the day beginning at 10am.  Tea/Coffee etc. will be provided.  Please bring your own bag lunch.  The day will conclude at 2pm.
