Welcome to St. Helen's Anglican Church

Update for Sunday, December 5th

Please join us in person this Sunday, December 5th for a service of the Holy Eucharist at 10am to celebrate the second Sunday of Advent. In the gospel reading for this coming Sunday, John the Baptist announces a chance for a new beginning. May we hear John’s invitation to prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight: repent and turn away from personal choices that impede God’s coming and collectively turn toward divine mercy.

If you are not able to be with us, we continue to livestream our services on our Facebook page. For a service sheet to follow the livestream service, see News Update and Service Sheet for December 5th at the bottom of this page.

New COVID safety requirements when attending Worship and Church Events

Earlier this week we received a letter from Bishop John Stephens regarding updated orders from the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry.

As we will see increasing in-person attendance at our worship services this holy season, we will continue existing precautions and will be implementing new requirements for worship designed to keep us all safe and as healthy as possible.

Effective immediately, all in-person participants and attendees at worship services, coffee hour and other organised church meetings or events must be fully vaccinated and be able to show Provincial or Federal proof of vaccination.

This includes any visitors to St Helen’s worship services over the Advent and Christmas season.

If you are not vaccinated, I encourage you to join worship via the livestream on Sunday mornings.

We are also now required to wear our masks (unless we are speaking or singing solo) during worship.

We hope and pray for an end to this pandemic, but in the meantime, we must continue to support one another and love one another and do what we can to limit transmission.

I am available for conversation and pastoral support should you or your family have any questions or concerns about these protocols.

With gratitude and affection,

Philippa Segrave-Pride
