Trinity Sunday
Celebrating God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

Do join us this Sunday, May 30th as we gather to give praise to the Holy One, listen to the scriptures, sing hymns and pray for one another all in the context of the Holy Eucharist.  The service is live streamed on our Facebook page beginning at 10am.  You would be most welcome.
It isn't easy to get our heads around the concept of three persona and one God.  What does it mean for our life anyway.  Is this really theology or spirituality for living?  Theology helps us to understand God by approaching God in a structured, methodical way.  Spirituality is perhaps more about the tools we use to have a conversation with the Holy One that help us to get on with our day to day living. Spirituality is there when we say a quick prayer, or simply thank God or express gratitude in some way. Spirituality is expressed too, when we cry out in emotional or physical pain.  Spirituality assumes a relationship with someone who is present with us. And it can be more than that. Spirituality helps us plumb the depths of the meaning of life, explore the nature of Holiness, and helps us to reflect on our relationship with the Holy One.  It all begins with our Sunday worship each week which we then take out into the world with us in our day to day lives.

Possible Reopening for In-Person Gatherings - with the new directives from Public Health and with permission of Bishop John, it is possible that we will be able to gather in a small way after June 15th.  More information about this will be made available in the next few days.  The parish needs to see that we will be able to provide for all the covid-19 protocols to be in place for any indoor gathering as well as anything we may do outdoors.  We will have to look at what our capacity would be for indoor worship and remind ourselves that it will still be just one person who will be allowed to sing.  Congregational singing will likely return after July 1st.  So watch this spot as we get ourselves geared up.

Please Take Special Note of the Following Notices
1/ Time Away - The Rector will be taking some time off over this next week.  It has been quite some time since he hsd had time off and welcomes the break from the regular routine.  If there are any pastoral issues over the next 10 days, please phone or email the office.  The voice mail and the emails will be monitored.

2A/ No service Next Sunday June 6 - There will NOT be a Sunday service at St. Helen’s next Sunday, June 6th. Instead, the wardens and sthe Rector suggest that you may like to mskr s virtual visit to the Cathedral and take in the live stream service from Christ Church Cathedral.  You can get information about the cathedral services by going to their website.  Their website is   www.thecathedral.ca   You will easily find how to watch the livestream of their 10:30am Choral Eucharist.  I expect to back in the harness around Wednesday, June 9th.

2B/ No Daily Prayer or Wednesday Conversation – This also means there will be no daily prayer livestreamed for the next couple of weeks.  Daily Prayer should resume on June 15th. The Wednesday conversation will also resume that week.

3/ Reopening for In Person Worship - Bishop John is allowing limited reopening of parishes for in person Sunday worship from June 15th.  This means that our first in person Sunday Eucharist will likely be on Sunday, June 20th. There will be protocols to follow, of course and people will have to register to come to the service.  Numbers will be limited due to social distancing and still, only one person will be allowed to sing.  There will not be congregational singing as of yet.  That may happen several weeks after reopening and as long as things continue in a trajectory that satisfies Public Health and ensure the well begin of everyone. There will be a newsletter coming out around 15th of June that will give greater details.  For now, let us pray that we all keep well, stay safe, and help keep others safe.  If you have an opportunity to get a vaccination (or the second vaccination) I would encourage you to do so.

4/A second round Grounds Cleaning and Cemetery Cleaning will be taking place on Saturday, June 12th from 10am.  Everyone is encouraged to participate as they are able.  If you would like to register to participate, please leave a message on the office voicemail or send the office and email.

5/ Financial Offerings  - Please do remember St. Helen’s with your financial offerings.  If you would like to make an etransfer, the email to use is giving2sthelen@gmail.com   You can also send a cheque to the parish postal address or even contact someone in the parish who might pick it up from you.

As always, I pray the blessings of the Holy One upon you.
May you be encouraged in strengthened in your life and as you help others.
Peace and Joy to one and all,
Steve
