This Week February 7th - 13th

Shrove Tuesday – February 9th -  Pancake and Sausage Supper from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.  By donation.  Give as you can or as you like.  There will be Fireworks! (The palms from last year will be burned at 6pm.  

Ash Wednesday Services – Lent begins February 10th - There will be 2 services on Ash Wednesday as we begin the Lenten Journey.  The first is at 10 am and the second is at 7pm.  Both are a service of the Holy Eucharist with the opportunity to have the imposition of ashes.  

ACW members are reminded that they are attending the evening service as a group and gathering in the upper hall for refreshments and fellowship after.  All worshippers are most welcome to join them for a cup of coffee and goodies.  

Lenten Program – From the feedback it has been decided that the program will be offered on the following days and times Tuesday mornings at 11am in the rector’s office and Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the rector’s office (Evening prayer at 6:30pm in the chapel)

Songs of Praise Our next evening of singing will be on Tuesday February 16th in the church at 7pm. Come join us and add your voice!  

Thank you to all those who helped in so many ways to clean out, organize, and follow through with the yard sale yesterday. It was a lot of hard work and your devotion and hands have been very much appreciated.  There will be another sale on Saturday, February 20th to finish off this cycle.  If you have any items you would like to give for the next sale, you may bring them by just about any time but please contact one of the wardens or the rector to make arrangements.  

Notice - The Annual Vestry Meeting – will take place following the Eucharist on Sunday, February 28th to receive reports regarding the work of the parish as well as our financial statements; elect wardens and parish council and look to our future. There will be finger food and tea/coffee to quench our appetite and thirst.  

Sunday Coffee Fellowship TeamsWe are looking for one other person or couple to help out on the 2nd Sunday of the month please. It is not an onerous task! Simply to be part of a team to help once a month. Please let Jos or Marion O’Byrne know if you can do this. Thank you!  

Hazeltone Concert -Friday, February 26, at 7pm, our neighbouring parish of The Church of the Epiphany (10553 148 Street) is holding a sing along and benefit concert.  Funds raised will go toward the purchase of a home for the OUR HOUSE recovery program, a charitable organization helping homeless addicts and providing new opportunities.  Snack/dessert buffet will follow this interactive and fun evening for all ages.  Tickets are $15.00 each with no charge for children under 12. See Jacquie Stinson or Judy Nicholson to purchase tickets in advance.
