Our Lenten Journey groups have begun. Each week is independant of the others so if you have missed one or can only come along to a few sessions during Lent, that is fine.
Each of the groups meets in the Rector's office in the hall. We begin with refreshments and catching up with one another and then read a short passage of scripture to spark our conversation about our faith journey so far and where we see it going. We read the passage using 'Lectio Divina' which simply means that we read it slowly to hear how God might be speaking to us through that passage. We share about what jumps out as us as individuals and for us as a faith community. Where is God calling St. Helen's? Where is God calling me? What does that mean for the journey we are making?
There are two groups. One meets Tuesdays at 11am and the second meets Wednesdays at 7pm. It is expected that each session lasts 75 - 90 minutes including the gathering refreshments. If you would like to come a bit earlier on Wednesday evenings, Evening prayer takes place in the Lady Chapel in the church.
A typical session runs like this:
Refreshments - coffee and tea
Scripture Reading and Conversation (Lectio Divina)
Tuesday dates - February 16th, 23rd, March 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd.
Wednesday dates - February 17th, 24th, March 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd
Everyone is welcome
